Mt. Cuba Astronomical Observatory
Bootsie Pannell suggested a trip to the Mt. Cuba Observatory last year at a DVM wine tasting event. I agreed this would be a great event for our members even though it is just over the border in Delaware. Mount Cuba Observatory's mission statement: the advancement and promotion of the study, observation, and appreciation of the sciences of astronomy, astrophysics, and the related space sciences. To this end, they perform research, work closely with University of Delaware, and have many outreach programs for the public and interested persons. They currently have very limited tours for the public, but Bootsie Pannell has secured a tour and lecture about the telescopes for us on Saturday, June 3 at 8 PM. Registration is limited to 20 and the donation is $10. No rain date because there is a program in the planetarium if the telescope is not usable. RSVP’s required with payment.https://tinyurl.com/DVMMountCuba
