Election season is approaching! Now is your opportunity to step up and be a part of how DVM is run. Please consider running for one of the following positions.
Local Secretary. This is the chief executive position for Delaware Valley Mensa. You would preside over the ExComm meetings and serve as the chief liaison with other chapters of Mensa and with the national office.
Treasurer. You would be responsible for monetary disbursements, budget creation, and for preparing semi-annual financial reports.
Ex Comm Member at Large. All Members at Large have a vote on the Ex Comm and may be called upon to help with specific projects such as auditing the books of the group annually, planning the summer bbq, or welcoming new members.
If you are interested in serving on the ExComm in one of the above positions for a two-year term, please fill out the Candidate Information Form and submit your question and answers via email to Lesley Slepner at email@example.com. Unfortunately, in order to make the deadline for nominees to be included in the February Proteus, your responses must be received by January 5, 2019.
It’s time for everyone in DVM to come together and take a trip back in time!
On October 20 at 11 a.m., we will be gathering at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in Manheim, PA, for Halloween Daze & Spooky Knights.
Feel free to dress in costume and bring the kids because this is a family friendly gathering for all ages. There will be a Halloween Treasure Hunt and costume competitions for children and adults. What Halloween celebration would be complete without Trick or Treating throughout the Shire? In addition to all of these special events, you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy all the Shire has to offer including food, drink, music, shows, and the excitement of jousts for honor and glory. Visit http://www.parenfaire.com/faire.html for more information and directions.
If all of that wasn’t enough, you also get a discount for joining DVM at the Faire! Group tickets are $23.95 for adults and $7.95 for children ages 5-11. Click http://tinyurl.com/yd28bk4h to buy your tickets! Hope to see you there!
With elections just around the corner for DVM officers, it is time to find volunteers for our Nominating Committee. We need dedicated members of our chapter to help us encourage, recruit, and review potential nominees for office in the coming election.
If you volunteer for the Nominating Committee, you cannot also run for office, so if you want to pitch in but want to guarantee you won’t be an officer, here’s your chance!
