The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program is an online essay contest open to all students who reside within the boundaries of a participating American Mensa Local Group and who are enrolled in a U.S. college or university in the academic year following the award (Fall 2020). Applicants write 550-word essays that describe their educational and/or career goals (with support). The deadline to submit online essays is January 15, 2020, at midnight.
Winners are selected based on these essays and Foundation judging criterion. Awards include both unrestricted and restricted awards at the local, regional, and national levels. Restrictions are primarily limited to academic fields of study or particular Local Groups.
American Mensa members and their dependents are also eligible to apply for two Mensa member awards; applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. college or university in the academic year following the award (Fall 2020). Additionally, the Foundation awards one scholarship to a member of another national Mensa who is attending a U.S. college or university. The National Scholarship Chair(s) handle the judging of these awards specifically.
Apply before January 15 at mensafoundation.org/scholarships.
