The SouthWest New Jersey Area Group held their first escape room event in April. The group
had a mix of veterans of escape rooms and a couple of escape room newbies, both DVM
members and Mensa prospects – could such an eclectic group escape the room?
Not the type to take the easy road, this group dove headlong into the escape room with the
highest difficulty level. “The Cellar” had a spooky theme, with a scant 60 minutes to solve
several rooms full of mysteries, puzzles, and seemingly unbreakable codes. Our intrepid group
of six dove right in, with all participants making significant contributions.
With time to spare, we escaped! (As many no doubt guessed, after having seen the
accompanying picture) The victors then celebrated with a trip to a local, highly touted Chinese
buffet. Reliving our shared victory, getting to know each other, and sharing some really
excellent food, a terrific time was had by all.
The next event will be a trip to a dirt track racing course, with other exciting events throughout
